8-28-2026
This release brings PDF reports to reverification jobs, makes the CrossCheck threshold configurable per account, and improves the accuracy of the data read off IDs.
What's new
PDF reports for reverification jobs
Reverification jobs now generate the same downloadable PDF report as standard verification jobs, with candidate information, extracted data, results, and photographs. Pull it through the API or from the File tab in the dashboard.

CrossCheck threshold is configurable per account
The identity score threshold that drives CrossCheck warnings can now be set for your account rather than sitting at a single platform default. Newly created accounts also start with sensible configuration defaults. These are set and managed by our Customer Success team so please reach out with questions.

Improvements
ID data extraction
- Single-name individuals extract correctly. People whose ID carries one name, with no separate given and family name, no longer fail extraction or use the wrong field.
- Back of ID no longer overwrites gender. Reading the back of an ID will not longer sometimes clear the gender value received from the front of the ID.
JS Plugin
- Camera button stays on one lens. The capture button no longer switches between lenses mid-capture on multi-lens devices.
US Driver's License Validation
- Unsupported states now show a more appropriate error. Jobs from states where validation is not available now report "Unsupported State" instead of "Not Performed", so you can tell an unsupported document apart from a check that did not run.
Dashboard and reporting
- Reverification jobs report accurately. Reverification jobs no longer show up as rejected in analytics and reporting when the job was successful.
Fraud detection
- Updated repeat-pattern model in production. A new model for detecting repeated and coordinated face patterns across jobs is live, catching reuse of the same face across accounts and sessions.
- Better screen detection on IDs. Improved detection of IDs presented on a screen rather than held in front of the camera.
Other various bug fixes and stability improvements made across the product offering.
8-14-2026
This release brings the verification flow to nine more languages, puts back-of-ID screen detection made available, and makes ID capture noticeably faster on slow connections and older devices.
What's new
Verify users in nine more languages
Your users can now complete visual identity verification in the language they actually read. The verification flow adds Farsi, Arabic, Turkish, Ukrainian, Mandarin, Italian, Polish, German, and Brazilian Portuguese. No integration changes needed, only configuration updates.
Back-of-ID e-screen detection is now live
The same e-screen check that runs on the front of the ID now also runs on the back of the ID when captured. This now runs at the same time and surfaces in API and webhook responses, so you can catch a class of fraud that previously may have passed silently.
Faster, more reliable ID capture
Slow connections no longer mean a long wait at the camera screen: the card detection model now preloads before the camera opens, eliminating delays of up to 16 seconds, and a new frame buffer keeps usable frames on slower devices instead of discarding them — so users get through capture faster with fewer retries.
Improvements
VIDV flow
- "No" now means recapture. Answering "No" on the ID data confirmation screen returns the user to recapture their ID instead of continuing with data they just said was wrong.
- More time for wallet handoffs. Digital wallet handoff polling for mDLs extended from 3 to 30 minutes to reflect how long users may actually take to complete the handoff.
- Action buttons stay visible on short screens. The plugin animation now hides in landscape and small mobile windows so buttons are never pushed out of view.
- Better screen reader support. Every screen now announces its own unique page title, with reading order and heading hierarchy verified across the flow.
Mobile SDK
- No more blank screens on capture failures. Capture-stage failures now route to the flow's error result so your app can respond, instead of stalling.
AML & TIN
- TIN Check respects group IDs. Group members now see only their group's TIN Check jobs, matching AML behavior.
- Removed AML webhook race condition. Updates arriving before a job finishes saving no longer throw errors.
Job Invites
- Clearer SMS invite errors. Invalid phone numbers on SMS invites now return a validation error instead of a generic 500.
Other Various bug fixes and stability improvements made across the product offering.
8-04-2026
This release opens up new webhook integration patterns with custom headers, and delivers a broad round of accuracy and reliability fixes across ID capture, the verification flow, and the dashboard.
What's new
Bring your own webhook headers
Your endpoints often expect more than a bare payload — auth tokens, routing keys, gateway requirements. You can now define custom headers on outbound webhooks, unlocking integration patterns that previously weren't possible.
Improvements
Reverification
Rejection reasons on reverification jobs. Reverification results now surface rejection reasons, and the flow's final screen has been updated to match the standard identity verification experience.
Rejection reasons & dashboard
- Refreshed rejection reasons. The latest phase of rejection reasons ships with design updates, and stale rejection reasons no longer persist on a job. Learn more →
- Final identity, everywhere. The "ID Matches Submitted Name" rejection reason table now shows final identity information, and job identity displays correctly across the dashboard.
ID capture & document recognition
- Nebraska commercial driver's licenses now verify correctly. Previously read as Arizona licenses — identification, extraction, and Driver's License Validation behavior are all corrected.
- Smoother document capture. A voided-document state no longer blocks back-of-ID capture, and template type matching is improved — including a corrected mapping for the Mexican Consular ID. Learn more →
JS plugin
- Clearer API key errors. New explicit "Invalid API Key" and "Missing API Key" errors — plus better logging for public key issues — make misconfigurations obvious at a glance.
- Wider browser support. The plugin now renders correctly in browsers that don't handle
height: 100svh. Learn more →
Verification flow
- Passport cards are now handled correctly, and Driver's License Validation jobs no longer complete without returning a determination.
- Desktop uploads without a camera. Users on desktops with no camera can now upload their documents instead of getting stuck.
- Enhanced Liveness accuracy. Good attempts are no longer rejected in certain cases.
- Mobile Driver's License fixes. Resolved a Driver's License Validation rejection bug on mDL jobs and improved error handling in the Digital ID flow. Learn more →
Testing environment
- Warning overrides now behave correctly in the customer testing environment. Learn more →
Various bug fixes and stability improvements were all addressed.
7-20-2026
This release sharpens rejection signals, polishes the mobile capture experience, and expands accessibility support.
What's new
Clearer signal on document mismatches and rejection cleanup
Discrepancies between OCR and barcode data are now returned in Visual IDV rejection details, so you can spot template and data-integrity issues without guesswork. The legacy selfie-liveness-rejection reason has been retired in favor of the structured liveness reasons introduced last cycle, cutting down on ambiguous signals.
Voided ID rejection option
A new account-level configuration lets you automatically reject voided US IDs at intake, without needing manual review downstream.
Improvements
Verification accuracy
- UK date-of-birth stricter matching. The UK DOB flow now requires email and postal code and is restricted to Great Britain only only.
- Reverification image clarity. Job images now render more clearly in the dashboard, and enhanced liveness selfie is supported through the API.
Mobile handoff
- Country-restricted phone selection. Handoff phone number selection can now be restricted by country.
- Pre-populated phone numbers. The plugin can now pre-populate the phone number on the handoff screen.
- QR and theming polish. Cross-device QR rendering, button theming, and screen spacing improved.
Accessibility (WCAG)
- Screen-reader access to overlays. Canvas and video capture overlays are now accessible to screen readers.
- Capture progress indicator. A new multi-step indicator communicates capture progress more clearly.
- File picker announcement. The hidden file picker button is now announced correctly by screen readers.
Important Bug fixes (Not all inclusive)
- Various address handling and OCR issues resolved
- Michigan Driver's License no longer misidentified as a Chile passport
- Consent page now styling updated for the Verbose theme in the plugin
6-29-2026
This release sharpens the signal you get on tricky jobs and improves accuracy on edge-case IDs.
What's new
Clearer signal on skipped liveness and document mismatches
When a job doesn't pass, you shouldn't have to guess why. Liveness skips and failures now surface as dedicated rejection reasons, so you can route those jobs differently from genuine fraud. For Visual IDV, discrepancies between OCR and barcode data are now returned in the API response and webhooks, and MissingIdentity is now available on IDV API jobs.
Improvements
Verification accuracy
- Smarter height parsing. Hyphen, prefix, and colon formats like "5-10" and "6:02" now parse correctly instead of failing.
ID capture
- Back-of-ID capture fixed for non-US/PR/Canada IDs, which were previously front-only and triggered "Information Missing."
Dashboard
- Voided ID confidence is now visible in the dashboard.
Accessibility (WCAG)
- Better screen-reader and low-vision support, including breadcrumbs in Verbose, a pausable flip-camera animation, and 320px reflow.
Localization
- Russian (ru) locale added to the JS plugin.
Various bug fixes and stability improvements.
6-8-2026
This release sharpens verification accuracy, expands mobile developer onboarding, and gives operations teams clearer signal on edge-case IDs. Highlights below.
What's new
Clearer signal when an ID isn't recognized
Template matching now returns a dedicated id-unsupported rejection reason when it can't recognize an ID — so you can route those jobs differently from genuine fraud signals instead of treating every unmatched document the same.
Mobile SDK sample apps — now public
You can now clone full Android and iOS sample apps and adapt them to your own setup. Real, runnable implementations replace doc-driven integration and get your team to first-capture in minutes instead of hours.
Improvements
Mobile experience
- mDL data in PDF exports. Mobile Driver's License results now appear in PDF exports from both the browser and the API — no more switching surfaces to assemble a complete record.
- Wallet handoff progress indicator. The mobile deep-link return page now shows progress while wallets that need extra processing time finish their work, so users know the handoff is still in flight. Learn more →
ID capture flow (JS plugin)
- Back-of-ID and selfie steps are now visually distinct, so users always know what's expected next.
- Refreshed on-screen instructions for barcode and back-of-ID capture make the ask clearer at the moment of capture.
- Barcode scanning now works on file uploads in the latest plugin versions. Learn more →
Verification accuracy
- Strict DOB match for SSN jobs. Tighten SSN verification by enforcing date of birth as a strict match indicator — fewer false accepts on close-but-not-exact records. Reach out to your Customer Success Manager to enable.
- Special character handling in TIN, SSN, and DOB inputs. Inputs now strip and normalize cleanly, eliminating a whole class of formatting-driven failures.
Dashboard & API signal
- Real ID status — at a glance. Real ID status is now visible in the dashboard under IAL2 compliance. Available on IAL2-compliant jobs only.
- Voided IDs flagged as warnings. Voided IDs now surface as warnings in the dashboard, API results, and webhooks — so you can catch them before they cause downstream issues.
